THE VOLUTION
A series of studies into the creation of the human form, a conceptual collection that sets out to appeal to the mind in a time where most fashion collections appeal only to an aesthetic instinct.
The collection itself is a series of 15 items which are related to one another by a progressing process of development and evolution, as each out come (study) in the series is a logical research into the previous one.
A Volution is a Visual Solution (path) is that constructs and represents a sequence of progress through successive stages of time or process.
It may as well represent a series of numerous products or studies that are all related to one another by a progressing process of development and/or evolution - De-volution).
However, although many fashion collection are in fact series of numerous products, only a few of them (if any at all) have been created according to a de-volutionary process, accommodate a de-volutionary process or even perform as a volution.
This project was ment to answer and test all of that by creating a fashion experience that while being guided, in its creation, by the volutionarry principles - will also perform as a volution at its end.
Inspired by Darwinism and the theory of Human Evolution (all creations are named after a human ancestor) and guided by modern/ post modern thinkers, this project sets out to question and re-discover what fashion and fashion design are about.
